What is actually happening in Warren over the next two weeks
A Frank and Dean tribute at the Lions Club Pavilion Wednesday, a dog walk with the deputy mayor on the 28th, the Labor Day 5K on September 5, and nine library programs in between.
The next two weeks in Warren Township: a Bob Marino Frank and Dean tribute concert Wednesday August 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lions Club Pavilion, a wellness dog walk with Deputy Mayor Vanessa Kian Friday August 28 at 9:15 a.m. at East County Park, the Back to School Drive donation bin at the library through August 21, and the Warren Labor Day 5K on Saturday September 5 at 9:00 a.m. at the Watchung Hills Pop Warner Complex. The library runs nine programs between August 18 and 26.
This week
Wednesday, August 19, 7:00 p.m. Bob Marino's Tribute to the Legends, the Frank and Dean Show. Lions Club Pavilion, 46 Mountain Boulevard. Free township event.
Wednesday, August 19, 5:30 p.m. Teen Speak, Every Conversation Matters. A virtual session from the Middle-Brook Regional Health Commission aimed at parents, caregivers and youth professionals, delivered over Zoom.
Through Friday, August 21. Back to School Drive. A donation bin is set up inside the Warren Township Library at 42 Mountain Boulevard. The drive is run by the Warren Township Mayor's Wellness Campaign and the supplies go to Feeding Hands, the food pantry here in Warren. This is the easiest useful thing on the list.

Next week and the holiday weekend
Friday, August 28, 9:15 a.m. August Wellness Walk, dog edition. East County Park gazebo, 40 Reinman Road. This one is a dog walk with Deputy Mayor Vanessa Kian. Earlier walks in the series were held August 1 and August 11.
Saturday, September 5, 9:00 a.m. Warren Labor Day 5K. Starts at the Watchung Hills Pop Warner Complex, with a course through East County Reserve. This year's running is themed around America's 250th. Registration is at runsignup.com/warrenlaborday5k. The cutoff for a reserved t-shirt was August 6, so register expecting no shirt.
Looking further out
Saturday, September 19. Trail Volunteer Day at Codington Farmstead, 15 Mount Horeb Road. The August 1 outing drew 19 volunteers who moved rocks, filled holes and improved trail markers. Sign up through the township's Open Space Program page.
Week of September 14. Fall tennis begins. Both youth and adult sessions run six weeks at the municipal courts, Warren residents only. Registration closed August 14, so this is a note for next season rather than an invitation.
Other fall recreation programming from the township's calendar: adult basketball on Mondays through December 21, adult coed volleyball, the Warren Fall 5K on October 3, Letters to Santa opening November 9, the Holiday Festival on December 5, and the Toys for Tots drive.
Greenwood Meadow pickleball courts are open to Warren residents, with court time reserved through CommunityPass. Recreation is reachable at 908-753-8000 extension 271 or recreation@warrennj.org.
Two practical notes
Township summer hours run through September 4. Offices are open Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Regular hours resume after Labor Day. Offices are still at the temporary location, 3 Mountainview Road, Suites 100 and 102.
A new year round Styrofoam recycling bin has been placed at the Municipal Complex. The township lists it under current news, though I could not confirm the date it was announced. Regular curbside recycling resumes Thursday, August 27, on the every other Thursday cycle.
